About Claire

Claire is a highly skilled freelance illustrator and surface pattern designer, originally from Oxfordshire but now working from her small home studio in Cumbria, on the edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park in Northwest England.

With over 15 years’ experience, Claire’s artwork has been used on a wide variety of products including stationery and gifting, home textiles, dinnerware, jigsaw puzzles and books.

Her love of drawing began as a little girl when she would spend hours colouring in and making cards for loved ones. Her creative process begins with messy pencil scribbles that are then transformed into full colour illustrations on her computer and iPad with lots of lovely little intricate details.

After graduating from De Montfort University, she began her creative career working for Next as a homeware product designer. She set up her own design business in 2012 focusing on surface pattern design and illustration and is represented by the wonderful people at

The Bright Agency.

She has collaborated with many long-established greetings card publishers to create several signature ranges of beautiful, luxe designs, demonstrating her intricate detailing and unique style.

Some of her past and present clients include Harper Collins, Ravensburger, Falcon De Luxe, Werkshoppe,

Museum & Galleries, Dunelm, Avon and Aldi.

When she's not busy in her studio "colouring in", Claire can be found exploring the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes with her partner, Henry and their cheeky cocker spaniel, Bobby on foot or in their trusty campervan, Stevie.

Failing that, she's probably sat on the sofa, knitting chunky jumpers with a brew and a piece of cake.
